     Photography Workshop

Location

The Studio

The workshops are conducted in my new studio in Chai Wan.  The address is:

Studio 10, 7/F, Cornell Centre

50 Wing Tai Road,

Chai Wan, HK

The building is on the corner of Wing Tai Road and Ka Yip Street.  WIng Tai Road is the natural end of the Island Eastern Corridor expressway. Here's a link to Google Maps, showing the location of the building:

Directions by MTR:

Take the MTR to Heng Fa Chuen, one stop before the Chai Wan terminus on the east end of the Island Line.  Heng Fa Chuen is just 20 minutes from Admiralty and 15 minutes from Causeway Bay.

Then it's a very short $18 taxi ride to the Cornell Centre.  In the cooler months, it's a 15 minute walk.  You can show the address and a map in Chinese by printing the page at this link:

(In the evenings after 6:30PM and on Sundays and holidays, the main entrance in Wing Tai Road is closed.  Please walk around the nearest corner to the rear of the building and enter through the car park entrance to the lift lobby.  Ordinarily, the taxi will drop you off at the back entrance anyway, because the Wing Tai Road side of the building is a "no stopping" zone.)

Directions by bus:

Get the 788 bus from Des Voeux Rd, opposite the Bangkok Bank building, or Jardine House, or HKAPA, or Immigration Tower.  This is an express bus which uses the Island Eastern Corridor.  Get off at the first stop after the bus leaves the end of the freeway.  That first bus stop is just 30 metres from the main door of the Cornell Centre.  Turn right on the sidewalk as you step off the bus, and then 30 paces later, turn left into the entrance of the Cornell Centre.  Then take an elevator to the 7th floor.

(In the evenings after 6:30PM and on Sundays and holidays, the main entrance in Wing Tai Road is closed.  Please walk around the nearest corner to the rear of the building and enter through the car park entrance to the lift lobby.)

Directions by taxi:

The taxi fare from Central is about HK$90 and the ride takes less than 15 minutes in light traffic.  You can show the studio's address and a map in Chinese by printing the page at this link:

Directions by car:

It's very easy. Drive east from Causeway Bay on the Island Eastern Corridor, past Tai Koo Shing.

Stay on the freeway, following the signs towards Chai Wan and Siu Sai Wan.  Do not take any exits.

Do not take the Chai Wan exit at the end of the freeway.

At the end of the freeway, proceed past the Chai Wan exit and over the small flyover, still following the signs towards Siu Sai Wan.

Do not take the Heng Fa Chuen exit.  The freeway has ended here and about 100 metres further along you'll see the Chai Wan Industrial City as the first major building on the left.  That block is your destination.  The Cornell Centre is the third building in that group of three on your left.

Get in the left lane here and turn into the first street on your left, just in front of these big buildings.  On the next corner after turning left, turn left again and you'll find a cheap outdoor carpark.  After parking, follow the waterfront to the Cornell Centre which is the third building in the group of three buildings right in front of you.  The other two buildings that you'll walk past are the Chai Wan Industrial City Phase II and Chai Wan Industrial City Phase I.  You can enter the Cornell Centre through the car park entrance at the rear of the building and proceed straight ahead to the lift lobby.

If you're only visiting the studio for a few hours, as you would for the three hour Digital Camera Class and Photoshop Class, then you have the option of parking under cover in the Cornell Centre.  Octopus Card is the only form of payment acceptable in the Cornell Centre's car park.
